All is One

When I think back on what was important to me as a child I hear music. Especially Imagine with John Lennon, which was one of my favourite songs. Sometimes I closed the door to the living room, dressed up in my mothers white skirt with purple flowers and played that song over and over again. I remember the feeling and the vision I shared with John; No more wars, and all people connected in peace.
This came back to me when I read somewhere that as a child we know exactly our life purposes, the goal we are here to achieve during this lifetime. I started to think about it again, what really puts my heart on fire. A naked revelation; I’m here to help people move closer to each other.
I cant really say that I’m living up to this ideal, but its one of the inspirations I have when I’m doing my films.
I’m interested and curious about people in general, how we live our lives and how we deal with our feelings. I can see now that this has been like a red line trough my years so far as a video maker.
I’m continuing with investigations on what lays behind the surface of all of us. Do we need to find true meaning and answers on what life is about? Everybody has their own way of holding up their safety net. One could say that we are all made of the same thing, and we are all part of each other.

The Installation All is One consists of two projections side by side. The videos are identical in many parts although reversed. The images are filled with symbols and the narrative is open in its structure and flows trough fairytale like tableau’s, the perspective changes, images from outer space get mixed in with nature, water lily ponds, birds and ghosts. This is a video where the non-physical world is as important as the world we live in every day. I have strived for a freedom, a wish for the images and the music to be the guide. This is more a video for the mind than for the intellect.

Installationen består av två filmer som går parallellt intill varann. Filmerna är identiska i många delar fastän spegelvända. Effekten blir en surrealistisk drömvärld. Jag har försökt reproducera flödet av händelser som kan uppstå i drömmar där allt är möjligt. Fåglarna har glömt hur man flyger söderut när hösten kommer, en guldskimrande farkost hjälper dem till en ö där många dimensioner existerar samtidigt. Filmen kan ses som en inre själslig resa men även som ett yttre kosmiskt musikspel.
All is One syftar på en enhet mellan natur människor och jorden. Enligt många New Age läror tillhör vi alla en själ, vi är alla sammankopplade. Det betyder att vi alla skall samverka till en bättre värld. Älska dina fiender, värna om naturen. Detta är en film där den icke fysiska världen är lika viktig och stark som den fysiska världen vi existerar i alla dagar. Jag är intresserad av New Age med dess estetik och musik och spirituellt upplyftande texter. Det är en värld av många dimensioner som i vardagen kan kännas både flummiga och knäppa men samtidigt tilldragande. Mitt undermedvetna har fört mig vidare under filmens tillkomst. Bilderna är fyllda med symboler som går att tolkas på många olika sätt. Berättelsen hänger ihop via tablåliknande sagosekvenser, perspektivet förändras, rymdbilder blandas med näckrosor träd och fåglar. Jag har strävat efter en frihet, kontrollsläpp, låta bilderna och musiken föra dig vidare. Det är mera en film för sinnet än för intellektet. Allt går inte alltid att förklara, det viktiga är att kanske bli hänförd av en känsla som inte behöver kategoriseras. Det är en seriös uppmaning om att släppa taget för en stund. Musikaliska inspirationskällor är Bobby Callender vars text till en av hans sånger om Rasha och Dara blev startpunkten till denna film.
